Go River Cats!

The kids first baseball game! We thought it would be fun to cheer our local team, the Sacramento River Cats at the neat little stadium "Raley Field." It is situated right on the Sacramento River by the high rise buildings downtown. The sunset was beautiful. You could see the reflection of the sun in the mirrors of the building windows across the river.
The air was warm, with just enough breeze to be comfortable. THe kids enjoyed the Friday Family Night atmosphere... $1 hot dogs and $1 ice cream sandwiches. They also talked Grandma and Grandpa Zwinggi into getting them huge blue snowcones and scary Rivercat claws.


The Rivercats lost to the Salt Lake Bees so that was sad, but we had a fun time with Grandma and Grandpa!

Berry Picking

Here are our cuties with some of their best friends. They had such a fun time berry picking. They all enjoyed eating as many berries as ended up in their baskets. It was a hot day, but the Marion berries helped with the heat and we had a respite from the heat under some tall shady oaks in the picnic area overlooking the valley. It was a great day, despite me taking a spill off of the picnic bench, butt first on the ground and Noah getting poked in the eye by a little stick weilding boy, the day was enjoyable.

Smithsonian on one of our last days

I saw some AMAZING art at the Smithsonian, a few of which I was able to photograph. Lots of which, I could not. Here are some interesting things that we saw.







Here is the biggest elevator we'd ever been in, I'm standing at one end and the family at the other end.
This was one of the most interesting pieces of art that we saw. Other than being a completely naked chubby old man, it was amazing. The detail in the color of the skin, the veins, everything was so lifelike even though the man was about 15 feet tall, sitting. It was hard to photograph because of the lighting, but I got a good sampling. I have full body photographs, but didn't want to offend anyone so here are a few "modest" pictures.

Emma and Noah had so much fun standing on this scale that told them how much they would weigh on other planets. Emma, here is 145 pounds on Jupiter. And Noah is 5.81 lbs on the moon.

We enjoyed Maryland, but were so excited to go home!
